Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. (1 Corinthians 9:24)
Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
The crown of righteousness awaits me. It requires that I deny myself, take up my cross, and follow you. I know that I no longer live, but you live within me. So, help me to strip off every weight that slows me down, especially the sin that so easily trips me up. And let me run with endurance the race that you’ve set before me.
May I continue to persevere, to rest when you call me to be still, and to drink from your living fountain when I am thirsty. May I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward. I can do all things through you who strengthens me, so there is nothing impossible for me to do because I believe in you.
Amen.
