Peace Of Mind

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

We can feel safe and protected as we surrender our anxious thoughts to God. All we need to do is to make them known to Him. He loves us, and He cares for us, and it is His desire to relieve the mental stress and anxiety that we are carrying. We don’t have to do it on our own, in fact, our own independence can actually hinder us from receiving the help that we need.

In difficult circumstances its hard to be thankful, because we can only think about what is weighing us down. It’s easy to miss God’s care, protection, and provision, as we move forward trying to figure things out. However, we can notice the little things. Those times of God’s grace and mercy where He extends His kindness and gives us room to breathe. If we will just take a moment, then maybe He will show us what we have been missing.

Today, I pray for those who are seeking His peace of mind. The peace of God comes to those who have made peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Every believer in Jesus has peace with God. Jesus promised to give us His peace and to leave it with us. It is not something from the world, but from God, for God is the author of peace. It can sustain every believer who trusts in Him. For His peace is beyond comprehension and too marvelous for words. At this time in your life, may His peace rest in your soul. Let it guide the direction of your life. Allow it to transform your mind, calm your heart, and give you hope for your future. Amen.

Thanks for this prayer, David. My brain was “fried” this morning and this prayer brought peace in the Lord.

Yes… during the busy-ness of this season, I needed to be reminded that Abba longs for me to place all my concerns, stress and anxious thoughts before Him. Thank you for this!
