What’s Your Prayer For Today?

December 31, 2017 By Lifestyle Prayers 6 Comments

Filed Under: Today Tagged With: Prayer For Today, today

My prayer for today is to be able to trust God with all of my heart, to lean not on my own understanding, to continue to acknowledge Him in all of my ways so that He can set my path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

I also desire to continue to be a support to the body of Christ, so that I can minister His presence to believers who need His encouragement.

If you could share your prayer request in a sentence or even a brief paragraph, what would it be?

Sharing your prayer request is a great way to express your feelings to God while you listen for His response. This way of talking with God is similar to how King David expressed himself in the Psalms. He shared a wide range of feelings from fear, anger, and even remorse to joy, confidence, and extreme praise. If this man of God, who followed after God’s own heart, can take time to thoroughly express himself, then so can every believer in Jesus Christ.

So, what is your prayer for today?

David, My prayer today is for a women in our small church group named Donna. She has Lou Gehrig’s disease and has been gradually losing her physical abilities. She’s at the point now where she cannot talk and must use a walker. She was living with her sister’s family but they must move to an even smaller apartment and do not have room for Donna. She will need acute medical care very soon. She is involved with a social worker to find a place to stay and I pray that get’s settled for her. Thanks, David!

Praying for her, Tom! Thanks for making her known to me. May this turn into a healthy crisis where Donna can have, and make known to her, the vast array of resources that can help her. I also pray for a settling in her soul, so that she can transition with God’s care in mind. I join with you, and your church, in praying for Donna.

My life verse. Proverbs 3:5-6! I love the way you wove it into your prayer.

My prayer for today, and this year, is to grow ever closer to Him so I can more effectively touch others for His glory. That He will give me words that will minister grace to the hearers (Eph 4:29). Not for me, but for those around me.

May your words be filled with His grace as you continue to grow ever closer to Him. Your life reminds me of those who spent time with Jesus. They touched others with His glory, simply by spending time with Him. There are many who need to hear about His life in you. May you continue to prosper and proceed with the Lord’s favor.

May your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (Colossians 4:6).
