Insomnia is a long and continuous inability to fall asleep.
For some unfulfilled reasons, your body is unable to rest under the influence of your mind. Your mind remains in a restless state, as it predetermines that there are things it will still need to do. Consequently, your body stays alert, and restless, to the activity within your mind. If the mind doesn’t shut off, then neither does the body.
Within this framework, there are different factors that can keep you from sleeping. For example, if you have been ritually abused during the nighttime, then your mind and your body will work in tandem to keep you awake. Why? Because you don’t want to be caught off guard and experience the trauma of abuse again.
In your mind, your body is not safe. Barriers have been broken, those in authority have not protected you, and you are determined to defend yourself if you are going to survive. As a result, you do not feel safe at night, and instead of enjoying a restful sleep, you worry about when the next uninvited person may try to harm you.
Another factor that enhances insomnia is what you watch through your eye gate. Your eyes are the windows to your soul, and if you watch horror films or pornographic movies, then you invite ungodly spirits into your being. These spirits form ungodly soul ties with your spirit, and unwanted rest can result from their disturbances.
Can you think of other factors that can disturb a person’s sleep? This post offers you the opportunity to share your own input. Let’s come together as believers in Jesus Christ to see insomnia stopped. Please share whatever God lays on your heart. Thank you!
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
We come to you because we want to see insomnia stopped at the very root of its core, so that rest can return to every weary soul.
Holy Spirit, may you direct our steps in order for our spirits to follow your leading.
Heavenly Father, come and prune our branches and remove all ungodly influences that disrupt our sleep.
Lord Jesus, help us to abide, remain, and rest in you. For you are our true and living vine and we, as believers in you, are your true and living branches.
Thank you, Lord God Almighty, for your intervention to help us to fall asleep, and to stay asleep, under your tender watchful care. Amen.
