Calming Prayer

Take time to slow down, and bring things to a gradual stop. Breathe in the goodness of God, and look for Jesus of Nazareth. You know His presence, for He’s always been with you. Be still and wait for Him. As you seek Him, leave your worry behind. If you come being afraid, then receive His perfect love. He offers you His peace to calm any storm and His quietness to hush any raging seas.

If you’ve come to see Him, then He’s expecting you. If you’ve come to hear His voice, then take time to listen. You are in a safe and secure place. He is your protector and provider, and no harm will come your way. He is your rear guard, and you can share whatever is on your heart with Him.

This is a place designed by Him as a place of rest and refuge for your soul. You can hide here in Jesus, for He is your solid Rock and your sure foundation. You can breathe and rest here. If you are thirsty, you can ask Him for His living water. If you are tired, you can take a nap under His watchful care, and He will take care of you.

So, spend as much time here as you like. Enjoy His presence. Rest in His love. Remain secure in His peace, and be comforted by the richness of His grace.

You can return to this place at any time, and He will be there waiting for you. So, rest, remain and abide in His love. For Jesus is your life, He offers you His hope, and He will sustain you by His strength, as you follow Him wherever He leads you. Amen.
