In the same way, the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will. (Romans 8:26-27)
Sometimes its difficult to pray. If you are grieving, it’s hard to find the words. In the midst of being overwhelmed, what can you say? If you have given up, then what else can you say? Is there anyone who understands you?
As believers in Jesus Christ, there are many times when we need the Holy Spirit to come and act on our behalf. We need Him to express what we are thinking and share how we are feeling, especially when our words are limited. At these particular times, He is fully able to come between us and God to convey what’s in our hearts.
Thank you for representing us before God. We never need to worry if we don’t have the right words to say, for you always speak well, on our behalf, and even when it’s difficult to share our feelings, you understand us, and you know how to comfort us.
You are rich in mercy, lavish in grace, and so wonderful in loving us. You are magnificent in all that you do, as we follow Jesus of Nazareth. Amen.
