Wine is a mocker, strong drink a riotous brawler; and whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise. (Proverbs 20:1)
Drinking and driving can be a dangerous combination of events if you choose to drive a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Alcohol can quickly impair your ability to think clearly and respond quickly, and no one with a sober mind wants to place themselves, or someone else, in danger of causing an accident.
So, that’s why it’s important to plan ahead and decide to take a taxi or assign a sober designated driver to drive you home if you are going to be consuming alcohol.
Life is short, in light of eternity, and if every person takes responsibility for their alcohol consumption, then no parent, spouse, or family member needs to worry about losing their loved one over someone who doesn’t care.
Help us to enjoy our time among family and friends, and where alcohol is being served, help us to remember not to drink and drive. Give us a sound mind to plan ahead, and if we find ourselves impaired, then me we have a backup plan to ensure that everyone gets home safely. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.
