We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 6:19-20)
Hope is something the Holy Spirit gives us when we place our faith in Jesus. It is a unique confidence that is inspired and fueled by God. Its fulfillment belongs to God, who never makes a promise He cannot keep.
The fruit of hope is a steadfast peace that calms any troubled waters. Its outpouring fills the heart with great joy. Its certainty anchors itself to the finished work of Jesus, and it joins with all creation in the eager expectation of His final return.
Prayer:
Our souls rejoice in you Jesus, Our Savior, for you are the One who was, and is and is to come. Thank you for placing your hope within us, for our faith rests completely in you. Amen.
