When Jesus asks you to get up and walk, after you have been paralyzed all of your life, you are standing in God’s righteousness, for you are able to stand in awe of Jesus Christ, and all that He has done for you.
So, today, in the midst of whatever trials, or tribulations you face, remember to stand in God’s righteousness. God made you right with Him when you placed your faith in Jesus Christ. Your own righteousness is like filthy rags, for He knows that you could never earn or deserve His merit, and that is why Jesus died on your behalf, for He is the spotless lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
Many of you, as believers in Jesus of Nazareth already know this, for this is nothing new, however, we sometimes can forget that our old nature no longer has any hold on us, for it died at the cross when we accepted Jesus’ payment for our sins and the forgiveness that only He can offer us.
So, once again, I urge you to stand in God’s righteousness, for that is where your righteousness is found, as redeemed sons and daughters. He no longer calls you slaves, but rather friends. Therefore your new identity needs to be part of your new nature, as you grow in confidence in Him.
Standing in the righteousness of your Son, Jesus of Nazareth is the destiny for all your children. Please forgive us for returning to our old nature, and for walking in our former ways. Rather, call us to stand in your righteousness, by your mercy and grace, so that we can enjoy your complete freedom, and call others to stand up, as well, and marvel at your mercy and grace. Thank you, Father. Amen.
