Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
Today, I sat down for some lunch in our cafeteria at work. No sooner had I taken my seat, when I heard someone behind me cursing the name of Jesus Christ. So, I quickly followed his public curse with my own public confession, saying to Jesus Christ out loud, “I bless your holy name!”
At that particular moment, it felt good for me to publicly honor His name, and I am thankful for the opportunity to express my freedom of speech within a secular environment.
Following lunch, I passed by this particular individual and prayed for his salvation, as I made my way back to my workstation.
Within your own work environment, may you be encouraged to lift up the name of Jesus Christ whenever someone else chooses to dishonor His name.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
You willingly came to this earth to die on a cross for our sins, and your love has been made known to us so that we would not perish. You came not to judge us, but to save us, and to give us eternal life. (John 3:16-17)
Help us to turn away from our unbelief, and to recognize our need for you, while there is still time to be forgiven of our sins, and to be reconciled with our Heavenly Father.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for we have all gone astray, and we have all fallen short of the glory of God. May your mercy and grace be made evident to everyone who has not understood how they have dishonored your holy name. Amen.
