When I was a young boy, I remember my Mom and Dad encouraging me to say my prayers, especially at meal times, and before I went to sleep.
Meal time prayers went something like this: “God is good, God is great, let us thank Him for our food, Amen.”
Before I went to bed, my parents taught me to say this prayer: “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, and if I die before I wake, I pray the Lord, my soul to keep. Amen.”
What prayers do you remember saying as a child?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
Thank you for my parents, and how they reminded me to say my prayers. They helped me to talk to you, and to ask for your blessings whenever I ate my food, and before I went to bed. I am very grateful to you, and to my parents, for telling me how to pray to you, and to be thankful for all things. Amen.
Thanks for the Like, LP. I look forward to exploring your blog further. Blessings, Mitch
