A refuge is a place of shelter from the storms of life. Within this place you can feel safe and secure, as you recover from whatever bothers you.
Did you know that God is also our refuge? We can go to Him whenever something troubles us. As we place our faith in Him, He promises to give us strength in times of trouble and to deliver us from all of our enemies.
Psalm 37:39-40 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in time of trouble.
40 The Lord helps them and delivers them;
He delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
Because they take refuge in Him.
God is able to comfort us when we feel upset, encourage us when we feel hopeless, and strengthen us when we have nothing more to give.
It is always His desire to save us, whenever we turn to Him for help, for He loves us, and He knows that we cannot live without Him. We can turn to Him to sustain us through trials, to deliver us from temptation, and to restore us whenever we feel depleted.
Are you in need of God’s refuge, today? Then take time to be with Him. Let His love speak to you, His gentleness settle you, His peace establish you, and His quietness soothe your soul.
His rest is all you need, as you spend this time with Him. He knows you, He loves you, and He is always there for you, whenever you need His help.
I come to you to be my refuge. I want to find shelter from the storms of life. May you refresh me with your presence, restore me with your hope, soothe me with your comfort, and guide me with your hand, so that I can feel safe and secure in your love. Thank you. Amen.
