How are we made right with God?
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. (Romans 3:22-26 – New Living Translation)
God wants all people to be saved, and come to a knowledge of the truth. The truth is that there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, namely Jesus Christ, who came to pay the penalty for our sin and to restore us into a right relationship with God. So, let’s be made right with God today by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.
Thank you for making me aware of what you have done for me through Jesus Christ. It is true that I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory (Romans 3:23). There is no one who is righteous in your sight, and any justification by my own merit is like filthy rags in Your sight. For I have not done right in Your His sight, and I have not remembered Your ways (Isaiah 64:5-6)
Thank you for showing me your great love by sending Jesus to die for my sins while I was yet a sinner (Romans 5:8). You sent your Son so that by believing in Him I would not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).
You have saved me by your grace, and I accept the sacrifice of Your Son on the cross for my sins. By accepting Jesus, You have given me right-standing with you, and I will forever be grateful. Amen.
