How Does Prayer Help You?
I thought I would ask this question to my subscribers, as well as to anyone who would like to take the time to respond.
Here are some of my own thoughts about how prayer helps me.
Prayer helps me to confess my sins before God when I know that I have thought and done things that do not honor Him. I am usually quick to confess, and sometimes over confess (if there is such a word) because I don’t want anything to hinder my prayers.
I usually pray after I have read something profound. Right now I am reading a number of books by Andrew Murray. His writing inspires and humbles me, because of his maturity in Christ, and there are many times when God draws me to repentance by what Andrew Murray has written.
Prayer also helps me to share my worries, find God’s peace, rest in His amazing love, and it doesn’t take long before I am rejoicing in God by singing a song that He has placed upon my heart.
Prayer is simply the language of love that God has established within me, and I can’t help but respond to Him. His grace is so rich in my life, His mercy never-ending, and I have never known, except for the love of my wife, so lavish a love this side of Heaven.
Now it’s your turn. Can you share with me how prayer helps you? Thank you for taking the time to read this brief post, and being courageous enough to share your response.
My best prayer times are when I totally give my heart to God. I feel very close at those times.
Thank you, Debra!
