It can be annoying to see a driver texting while driving, especially if you are a passenger within the same vehicle. How can a passenger feel safe, if they are unsure if the driver is actually paying attention to their primary task?
Drive now text later, is a familiar slogan that you may see on the highway. It says what it means, as it helps drivers to separate driving and texting so that everyone can arrive safely at their destination. Try it for yourself the next time you are tempted to pick up your cell phone while driving.
Here’s a helpful suggestion: When my wife and I travel together, I do the driving while she uses her cell phone to provide us with the weather forecast, and any navigation details. It’s a safe and simple way for us to be able to enjoy our travels together without putting anyone at risk.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us to be mindful of what we are doing while we are driving. Show us how we can drive safely, and when to use our electronic devices, without risking harm or injury to ourselves, or to anyone else. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for helping us to become better drivers. Amen.
