The Mind Of Christ
Bible Verse: Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross. Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for demonstrating what true humility looks like, and for becoming obedient to the will of the Father, even unto death. Your love is beautiful, your grace is amazing, and your mercy is so rich and kind. May your mindset be our heart’s desire, as we continue to declare you as Lord before our Father in Heaven. Amen.
Celebrating God’s Love For Me.
Bible Verse: The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior.
He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love,
He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. (Zephaniah 3:17)
Author Quote: The secret of stable and perpetual joy still lies where Zephaniah found it-in the assurance that the Lord is with us, and in the vision of His love resting upon us, and rejoicing over us with singing. (MacLaren’s Expositions)
Prayer: God, I take this time to receive and rest in your amazing love. The assurance of your love causes me great joy. It heals my heart, removes my fear, and calms my soul. Thank you for showing me your love, and helping me to rest, and trust you, even more, every day. Amen.
Let’s Continue In His Word
Bible Verse: As Jesus spoke these things, many believed in Him. So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (Jonn 8:30-32)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we believe in you, and we will remain in your Word, so that we can be known as your disciples. Thank you for the privilege of being in an intimate relationship with you. May your Holy Spirit continue to teach us your truth, so that we can walk in even greater freedom, as your followers. Amen.
July 20, 2019 – Let His Light Shine Through You
Bible Verse: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a lampstand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)
Author Quote: Let your light shine, the deepest meaning is, let Christ, who dwells in you, shine. As in the power of His life, you do your good works your light shines out to all who see you. And because Christ in you is your light, your works, however humble and feeble they be, can carry with them a power of Divine conviction. The measure of the Divine power which works them in you will be the measure of the power working in those who see them. Give way, O Child of God, to the light and life of Christ dwelling in you, and men will see in your good works that for which they will glorify your Father which is in Heaven. (Working For God by Andrew Murray pp. 18-19)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for showing the light of Christ within every person who has received your Son. His light brings life and healing to everyone who is willing to call upon His name. To you be the glory, as you continue to rescue those who desire to be transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of your beloved Son. Amen.
July 19, 2019 – Its Always Good To Wait In His Presence.
Bible Verse: Still I am certain to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD! (Psalm 27:13-14)
Author Quote: One of the chief needs in our waiting upon God, one of the deepest secrets of its blessedness and blessing, is a quiet, confident persuasion that it is not in vain; courage to believe that God will hear and help; we are waiting on a God who will never disappoint His people. (Waiting On God by Andrew Murray, pp. 45-46)
Prayer: God, it is always good to wait upon you, for you always bless those who are willing to seek your face, and to follow your ways. May you help us when we are impatient, to simply rest in your love, and to be quiet in your presence, so that we can see your goodness in the land of the living. Amen.
July 18, 2019 – My Hope Is Found In Jesus Christ.
Bible Verse: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I place my hope in you, and in you alone, for you are the solid rock on which I stand. Thank you for bringing me your confident assurance that I am completely secure in you. Amen.
July 17, 2019 – Jesus Is The Vine & We Are His Branches.
Bible Verse: I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
His Prayer For Us: “I am the Vine, I will receive you, I will draw you to myself, I will bless you, I will strengthen you, I will fill you with my Spirit. I, the Vine, have taken you to be my branches, I have given myself utterly to you; children, give yourself utterly to me. I have surrendered myself as God absolutely to you, I became a man and died for you that I might be entirely yours. Come and surrender yourselves to be entirely mine.” (Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray, page 126)
July 16, 2019 – God Has The Power To Keep Me.
Bible Verse: You have granted me life and lovingkindness, and your care has preserved my spirit. (Job 10:12)
Author Quote: Every morning God will meet you as you wake. It is not a question: If I forget to wake in the morning with the thought of Him, what will come of it? If you trust your waking to God, God will meet you in the morning as you wake with His divine sunshine and love and He will give you the consciousness that through the day you have got God to take charge of you continuously with His almighty power. And God will meet you the next day and every day, and never mind if in the practice of fellowship there comes failure sometimes. If you maintain your position and say: “Lord, I am going to expect Thee to do Thy utmost, and I am going to trust Thee day by day to keep me absolutely”, your faith will grow stronger and stronger and you will know the keeping power of God in unbrokenness. (Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray P.102)
Prayer: God, I give you thanks, for your ability to keep me, and to look after me, in your almighty power. I trust in your confidence, as I lean into you, and rest upon you, just as a branch rests in its vine for everything it needs. Thank you for keeping watch over me, each and every day, Amen.
July 15, 2019 – The Truth Being Revealed In God’s Love
Bible Verse: Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part [of my heart] You will make me know wisdom. (Psalm 51:6)
How are you doing today?
This is a genuine question. I realize that when you interact with some people it may seem insincere. They ask the question just out of habit to be polite, but they are really not interested in hearing your response. That’s because it’s all about them, and not about you.
Today is a good day to be true with yourself, your friends, and your family. It’s also a good day to be real with Jesus.
Why is this so important? Because He loves you and He wants to reveal Himself to you. He has made you in His image, and He wants you to get to know Him, just as He knows you.
So, how are you today? May this be a day for all of us to be real before others and before Jesus. Let’s start with Jesus, and He will help us to welcome the truth that leads us to wisdom.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you as I am. You love me, and you desire the very best for me. Help me to be honest with you, so that I can speak about my pain, tell you about my fear, and allow you to heal my wounded heart. Thank you for being my Gentle Shepherd, and I welcome your tender care, as I share my life with you. Amen.
July 14, 2019 – Live By The Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26)
Bible Verse: So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, forgive us for grieving you by gratifying the desires of our earthly flesh. We return to you in repentance and full surrender. Help us to be led by your presence, and to follow your direction because we cannot live without you. We love you, Holy Spirit, Amen.
July 13, 2019 – Where Does Faith Come From?
Bible Verse: So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ. (Romans 10:17)
Faith finds its origin in God’s promises. For example, if we have ears to hear what we are told, then we can believe in God’s salvation. By believing what we have received, we become obedient to God, and we partake of His righteousness, which is found in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we believe in you, and God’s promise of salvation that is found in you, and in you, alone. We come to hear and receive the Good News about what you have done for us. Thank you, for the opportunity to fully place our faith and trust in you, as the Lord and Savior of our lives. Amen.
July 12, 2019 – Where, O Death, Is Your Victory? (1 Corinthians 15:50-58)
Bible Verse: Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank you that death has been swallowed up by your victory at the cross. For you have perfectly fulfilled all of the requirements of the Law by being the spotless Lamb of God who has taken away all of our sins, and we have chosen to believe, and trust, in you.
We will be forever grateful for your victory on our behalf, and we will continue to proclaim the good news of your salvation, until the trumpet sounds, and the dead in Christ are raised to immortality. Hallelujah! Amen!
July 10, 2019 – What Can Separate Me From God’s Love?
Bible Verse: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding me that God’s love is found in you and that nothing will ever be able to separate me from His love. Bring your peace to my mind, and your love to my heart, whenever I forget or become unsure, of the depth of your love for me. Thank you for your reassurance, because it always makes me smile. Amen.
July 9, 2019 – Jesus Will Wipe Away Our Pain
Bible Verse: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:1-4)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we look forward to your return. For in that day the old things will pass away, and new things will come. Death will no longer exist, and every form of grief you will wipe away.
Thank you for the promised hope of your return, as we say, once again, come, Lord Jesus, come, for your bride awaits you, and she looks forward to your triumphant return, as you reign over her, forever and ever. Amen.
July 7, 2019 – Jesus Is Moved With Compassion.
Bible Verse: And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed. (Mark 1:40-42)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, you always reveal your compassion to anyone who is seeking you. As we humble ourselves before you, we also present our requests to you. Since you are willing, as you were with the leper, may you also extend your compassion towards us to bring us your healing. Amen.
July 6, 2019 – Jesus Offers Us His Freedom
Bible Verse: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, you set us free by your grace through faith in you. The Law was given to point to you, and you have already fulfilled all of its requirements. Therefore, may we not return to it, because it can never save us. Instead, we stand firm in our faith in you, by your ongoing grace, and by your continued mercy. Amen.
July 5, 2019 – Rest And Wait Patiently For Him
Bible Verse: Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. (Psalm 37:7)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am content to rest and to wait patiently for you. Evil men and women can choose to carry out their wicked schemes, but I choose to hate what is evil and to love what is good. Therefore, I will not fret, as your goodness will always shine through because it is your promise to always reward those who are willing to wait for you. Amen.
July 4, 2019 – God’s Defends His Righteous Ones – Psalm 64
Bible Verse: Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.
Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers. They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows. They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear.
They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, “Who will see it?” They plot injustice and say, “We have devised a perfect plan!” Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.
But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down. He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn. All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.
The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!
Prayer: God, I thank you that you will destroy the plans of the wicked, and even remove the wicked from the face of the earth. I love how you defend your righteous ones, those who have placed their faith confidently in your Son, Jesus of Nazareth. To you be the glory, Lord God, Almighty, both now and forever more. Amen.
July 3, 2019 – You Are My Hiding Place – Psalm 32
Are you seeking refuge from the storms of life? God is a safe hiding place, where you can feel loved, comforted, and nourished by His Word.(As you read Psalm 32, pause and reflect when you see Selah).
Bible Verse: You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him, in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones became brittle from my groaning all day long. For day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was drained as in the summer heat. Selah
Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
Therefore let all the godly pray to You while You may be found. Surely when great waters rise, they will not come near. You are my hiding place. You protect me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will give you counsel and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or mule, which have no understanding; they must be controlled with bit and bridle to make them come to you. Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but loving devotion surrounds him who trusts in the LORD.
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, O righteous ones; shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
Prayer: Lord God, I take refuge in you. You are so merciful to forgive me of my sin when I confess it to you; so gracious to show me your favor, and so kind to protect me with your loving kindness. Thank you for being my hiding place, as you cover me with your strength, and you move in my midst with your tender care. Amen.
July 2, 2019 – God Came To Save Us Through Jesus
John 3:16-18 is one of my favorite scripture passages. Here is a reminder of what it says:
Bible Verse: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Prayer: God, thank you for sending your one and only Son to show us your love. Your desire is to save us and to give us eternal life. May this scripture passage give us hope, as we turn to you, and believe in your Son. Thank you, once again, for this marvelous expression of your love for us. Amen.
July 1, 2019 – Does Worry Add A Single Moment?
Bible Verse: Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? (Matthew 6:27)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, if we are honest with ourselves, we realize that all of our worries can never add a single moment to our lives. Please forgive us for entering into worry, and allowing worry to get the best of us. We ask you to remove the fear associated with worry and to teach us how to respond in faith towards you.
May we learn how to better express our worries to you, and lean on you for our understanding. Bring in your perfect love to drive out fear, and encourage us with your peace whenever you see fear trying to overwhelm us. Thank you for your genuine care and concern for us, as you teach us how to rest, remain, and abide in your marvelous love. Amen.
June 30, 2019 – Have You Entered Into God’s Rest?
Bible Verse: Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it. For we also received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, since they did not share the faith of those who comprehended it. Now we who have believed enter that rest. As for the others, it is just as God has said: “So I swore on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’” And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world (Hebrews 4:1-3)
Prayer: God, your rest is available to everyone who believes in you. You call us to rest from our labor, just as you rested on the 7th day after creation. Forgive us for hardening our hearts, and walking in disobedience towards your promise of rest for our souls.
Instead, we turn in repentance towards you, and express our thanks to you, for helping us to receive your provision. May we fully enjoy your Sabbath rest, by stilling our hearts, and listening to the sound of your voice, as you delight and rejoice over us. Amen.
June 29, 2019 – Rest With Full Confidence In Jesus
Bible Verse: Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you for rest. I lay down my burdens before you, so that you can refresh me with your presence. I welcome your peace to remove worry, your perfect love to cast out fear, and your overwhelming joy in the midst of my challenges.
Thank you for your tender care, as I rest with you. Teach me how to live a more abundant life, so that I can simplify my life, reduce my stress, and encounter more of your lavish love for my soul. Thank you for showing me how to enjoy your rest, as I spend this time with you. Amen.
June 28, 2019 – God Takes You By Your Right Hand
Bible Verse: For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. (Isaiah 41:13)
Prayer: God, I choose to trust you, and lay down my fears before you. Thank you for your kind heart, your lavish love, and your gentle leading. Bring me closer to you, so that I can know you more, and learn how to lean on you for my understanding. Thank you for being good to me, all the days of my life. Amen.
June 27, 2019 – Because You Are My Help
Bible Verse: O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You. My body yearns for You in a dry and weary land without water. So I have seen You in the sanctuary, to behold Your power and glory. Because Your loving devotion is better than life, my lips will glorify You. So I will bless You as long as I live; in Your name I will lift my hands. My soul is satisfied as with the richest of foods; with joyful lips my mouth will praise You. When I remember You on my bed, I think of You through the watches of the night. For You are my help; I will sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me. But those who seek my life to destroy it will go into the depths of the earth. They will fall to the power of the sword; they will become the portion of jackals. But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by Him will exult, for the mouths of liars will be shut. (Psalm 63)
Prayer: God, I reach out to you, so that you can fill my soul with your refreshing water. I am dreary in a parched land, and I know that you can satisfy my soul. You are my help in time of need, and I can sing as I rejoice in your loving care. Thank you for destroying the works of my enemies, as I rest and remain under the shadow of your wings. Amen.
June 26, 2019 – Perfect Love Casts Out Fear
Bible Verse: There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, your perfect love has no fear attached to it because it is based on the essence of who God is. Thank you for taking the punishment for our sins on the cross, and for giving us your righteousness. We now stand in you without fear of punishment, because your love casts out all fear, and your love makes us whole. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.
June 25, 2019 – A Father’s Love
Bible Verse: Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure. (1 John 3:1-3)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, the purity of a father’s love who genuinely cares for his child is a beautiful thing to see. Thank you for revealing your own love to us in Jesus of Nazareth. We are called children of God because we have received your Son, and we believe in His name.
May you continue to reveal your lavish, sacrificial love to everyone who desires to receive and believe in Jesus. Thank you for showing us your mercy, your grace, and your divine love in what you have done for us. Amen.
June 24, 2019 – Will We Wait Upon The LORD?
Bible Verse: But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
Prayer: LORD, wisdom will teach us that its always best to wait upon you, so that we can hear your voice, and follow your direction. You promise to renew us with your strength, as we stop and wait for you. With you leading us, we can run the race you have set before us without getting tired, and walk to the finish line without growing faint.
Thank you, LORD, for helping us to benefit from following your instructions, and seeking your way, as we walk with you together through this journey of enjoying your abundant life. Amen.
